Think Pink! Reflection on Styled Shoots

Happy Thursday loves! I wanted to come on here and share some words on styled shoots and my creation process for them. I absolutely love participating in styled shoots because they give me the freedom to be imaginative with my work, and show my audience the potential of what I can create! The most recent shoot I participated in has to be one of my favorites to date. The colors, the vibe, the setting, just everything came together so beautifully! I knew for this shoot I wanted to showcase my wooden rental boards. I really wanted to focus on creating a statement seating chart and a unique quote sign. For the quote piece, I decided to add a floral frame to match the overall color scheme and vibe of the shoot. I loved creating these two wood pieces, and I think large pieces like these always add so much life to decor!

Next, I decided to challenge myself and mix in other mediums like mirrors and acrylic to tie in all of my pieces. I added one of my white framed mirrored rental table numbers to the tablescape. I played off of the white frame to tie in the white calligraphy throughout all of my other pieces. If you read my previous blog post on perfecting wedding details, I am a huge believer in making sure mediums are cohesive and flowing well together throughout all of the details! Ensuring a steady base color (like white) throughout all mediums creates a flow for all of my details!

I also wanted to add a pop of acrylic, so when the planner and designer of the shoot (Ariana of AMC Weddings) asked me to create an invitation and something to add to the table settings, I knew exactly what I wanted to do! I decided to make acrylic menu cards for each place setting, and a coordinating acrylic invitation. In order to tie in my other details, I painted the backs of the menu cards with the same color I used for the floral detailing on my wooden sign! For the invitation, I created a floral design that mirrored the border on my wooden sign. I fell in love with how all of these pieces came together and complemented each other!

I am looking forward to dreaming up more ideas for styled shoots in the future, but for now it is full speed ahead into wedding season!
